Original Rehkopf’s location closes after 30 years

The original Rehkopf’s closed its doors for the last time Monday after 30 years in business.
Would-be customers were turned away from the small grocery by locked doors on Tuesday while workers inside packed away remaining merchandise. A pink sign pinned to the doorway directed them to three other Texarkana-area locations.
“I loved this place,” said Darlene Henderson, who lived a few houses away and often walked to the Arkansas-side store, at Jefferson Avenue and 24th Street. “I came here a lot. Oooh, I hate they’re moving.”
